Feeling Unmotivated? Every Day is Getting Harder… But I’m Still Showing Up.

If I’m being real—and I always will be—every day lately has felt like pushing through mud. The weight of laziness? Heavy. Procrastination? She’s got me in a chokehold.

Today, I saw a job posting for counselors at my old workplace, and it stirred up something deep. Feelings of inadequacy. That familiar spirit of rejection. Memories of my last day haunt my dreams, and if I’m honest, that wound is still healing.

But even still—yesterday, I prayed. I meditated. I spring cleaned. I walked for 30 minutes. And today? I’m writing to you.

Not from a place of perfection, but from truth. From resistance. From that sacred space between breakdown and breakthrough.

Here’s the truth: I just started by taking one step. Then I asked the Holy Spirit, “Show me what needs to be done. ”The rest? Divine intervention.

3 Ways I’m Staying Motivated (Even When I’m Not Feeling It)

1. Don’t sit down. Don’t spiral. Focus on the task at hand. I’ve learned that my energy can get hijacked real quick by a text, a notification, a “quick” scroll. Suddenly, I’m off mission and wondering where the time went. Staying physically in motion keeps the mental energy flowing. If I sit too long, the doubts sit with me.

2. Progress looks different on everyone. Yesterday I was cheering for others and still wondering, “But God… what about me? "That thought hit hard, but then I remembered:

God doesn’t have a one-size-fits-all formula for success. Your journey isn’t delayed or denied just because it doesn’t mirror someone else’s. Your business didn’t fail—it planted. And some seeds? They take longer to break through because their roots are going deeper.

Ask yourself:

  • If your definition of success looked different than theirs, would it still feel valid to you?

  • And if God said, “You’re being hidden right now because I’m refining you,” would you trust the wait?

3. Faith & discernment go hand in hand. Faith manifests what we desire—but discernment protects it. I saw a post this morning about Red Foxx, who passed away on stage. People thought he was joking… but it was real. It reminded me how important it is to speak life and live intentionally. Even Tupac spoke about not making it past 25—and look what happened.

So now? I’m careful with my words. I’m cautious with my circle. Some “comforting” relationships are really low-key draining. And when I started cutting those cords, I felt the shift.

So no, I don’t have all the answers. But I have one truth today: Keep showing up. Even if it’s just one prayer. One blog post. One walk around the block. That one act of resistance is spiritual warfare. And God honors every single step.

A final reminder:

4.Make yourself happy. Boredom and unfulfillment creep in when you're most vulnerable. Don’t go back to the things that helped break you.

Instead: Plant something. Write. Join a group. Walk in the park. Just… don’t pick the distractions wearing disguises

That’s all I’ve got for today. If this touched you, let me know below. Or just whisper a prayer for the girl who’s writing her way out of the wilderness.
